Our Penang retreat!

Holiday with family is something that I always look forward to! As this year's Raya holiday is long (2 weeks!!), we decided to go for a retreat in Penang! Great place, great food and not forgetting beautiful beaches!

On the third day of Syawal, we boarded a plane to Penang. Nowadays, it is more convenient to travel by plane as it saves time, energy and it saves you from the traffic! Once we landed in Penang International Airport, we first went to Nibong tebal to visit my aunt on my father's side. It took us about 45 minutes to reach our destination.

The Penang Bridge..the last time we drove across this bridge was about 10 years ago..hehe

Our family in Nibong Tebal..

Later, we headed to our second destination of the day - Balik Pulau. We got a wedding invitation from a family friend..who has actually become more like a family. Thus, getting an invitation from them is a must-go thingy

Now it's time to check in! Our choice for this holiday is Golden Sands by Shangri La. This is one of our favourite places to stay in Penang. It is situated in Batu Feringhi. This hotel is beautiful and cool. It provides all the facilities that you need; pool, gym, cafes, and even a lounge with a mini library and kids cyber corner!

 The view from our room..

Our room..so comfy.. =)

One of the few pools that they have..

They even have Haagen Dazs kiosk at the pool area!

This is where the delicious food is served!

Free flow of coffee and pancakes for breakfast! =)

Enjoying the scenery and the weather.. =)

The lounge with the mini library, free internet access and the kids cyber corner.. Really a great place for a family holiday..

The best part of the holiday was parasailing! This was my first time and it was awesome!!! Finally I can fly! LOL. My sister and I really enjoyed it and it was worth every ringgit.

It was a great holiday! We enjoyed it thoroughly. If you are planning to go to Penang, Golden Sands Shangri-La would be  a great choice.
